Should i import dead island character

Some things not carried over are the new skills in each character's skill tree Faster Get-Up, Sprinting Attack, etc. John, the new Riptide character, naturally cannot be imported from the first game, nor can the character of Ryder White be used. Remember that Riptide launch version 1. Luckily the level cap is past 60 probably 70 , so you will have some measure of play if you imported a high level character.

Use that chance to buy up any remaining skills you believe are helpful. Note that the new Weapon category related skills which require "mastery" through usage start at Level 0 regardless if you import a character or not, since they are new to Riptide. If you're playing the first Dead Island to boost your character for Riptide, there're a few tricks to help you fast-level. A - There is a way to duplicate any stackable item in Dead Island, provided you have your other slots occupied by non-stackable items, and have the blueprints to create the stackable item you want to dupe, and a blueprint to create another stackable item.

Basically, have the stackable item you want to duplicate equipped in your hand and occupy the other weapon wheel slots with non-stackable items.

Go to a workbench and create a stackable item that's different from the one you are duplicating, and you will have a new stack of items minus one in the stack in your inventory. I had a level 52 Sam B but right before Riptide came out I made a xian to play with someone that just started. I kept trying to choose my sam b but xian kept being my riptide starting char. After i deleted Xian and my level 52 Sam B was on top of the list I was able to play him.

Hope this makes sense. I had to actually load the original DI and delete xian. Im sure its a bug and hopfully they will fix it. Rasputin View Profile View Posts. I hate how they strip all your items however, Import a lvl 59 Purna and gg use melee weapons now, and I have not used anything but guns since lvl 15 or so. Arsomnus View Profile View Posts. You start with a nail gun and a flare gun but meh rasputin Last edited by Arsomnus ; 23 Apr, pm. Yeah, the import seems to be a bug for a handful of people.

As someone who imported a level 50 Purna, I have to ask - how familiar are you with the gameplay? If you're still adept at it, you may as well import. If you're rusty User Info: Mayday. Constant re-spawning waves of infected are everywhere. To compare I'm enjoying my play through with my import. It is definitely hard at times but you die and basically respawn where you died User Info: squiggy I want to agree with you but then we'd BOTH be wrong User Info: kanet. Both have their advantages.

With an import your beefed up enough to be able to handle what they through at you, plus, you will find better weapons earlier in the game. The downside? Remember how in the original, everyone wanted a way to respec their skills? Well, if you imported, then you just blew your chance to finally respec.

And the difficulty in the early part of this game seems crazy with an import, but that's because the zombies are in larger groups to compensate for your level. Starting a new character gives you a chance to correct the mistakes you might have made on the skill tree in the first game, or maybe not even a mistake, but something you found wasnt as helpful as you hoped. Also, you start at level 15 so you get to put some points to good use right away. It also felt a lot more fun to me starting from scratch.

The downside is that you get nothing but junk for weapons for quite awhile. Even when you get your first Orange weapon and hook it up with a nice blueprint, you know that by the next day your going to be selling it for junk because you are now levels higher and that Orange weapon is collecting dust unless its a gun, then it's still pretty useful for awhile. I'm thinking I might not even bother importing my lvl 60 Purna, and just starting her from scratch.
