KyogreThunder Call of Fate. We've had threads like this one,but now that they're old,you can vote in this poll. IIRC there's more to do in the latter, and besides Johto is a great region. Also nostalgia. Lorde Banned. Kalosian Never Say Forever. When choosing between Pokemon games, decisions are often hard to make. But this isn't one of them.
For me, choosing my favorite out of the two options here is one of the easiest decisions to make. Below is my personal opinion on the matter. Platinum is a much better game in every possible way. The Sinnoh Dex didn't have all non-legendary Sinnoh Pokemon, the Poketch only had one button, the surfing speed was slow and the Pokemon distribution was lacking at places, among other things.
It also added several fun new features like the Battleground, the Distortion World and the new Wi-Fi features. In addition to this, it brought back features from previous games like the Battle Frontier with new facilities , Move Tutors, a stronger Elite Four on subsequent visits, Gym Leader rematches and more. There were more legendaries to catch as well as more things to do overall. The story and the characters were massively improved as well.
The story and the game itself wasn't a rehash of a previous game, which was welcome. Sinnoh is a great region, one of my favorites, it has a lot of interesting areas with great variation and there is a lot of stuff to do. The post-game areas are great, you have a large area to explore with lots of strong trainers and wild Pokemon not seen during the main story.
Platinum was innovative for being a third game just like Emerald, and I liked that. I didn't like them. I had high expectations on them, but everything fell flat to the floor and was shattered. They should get credit for introducing these things and only for actually introducing them, which they deserve. But at the same time, they had a lot of problems. The level curve was terrible, the Pokemon distribution is screwed, the story was bad even by Pokemon standards, the "post-game" was boring as Kanto was a shadow of its former self with several places being removed, and Johto was very small as it lacked a proper post-game and relied on Kanto for its final bosses and what little post-game it had.
They kept all the horrible flaws from the originals and did nothing to make up for it. They could have added new innovative things, but they didn't, instead just keeping things from Platinum like the Battle Frontier and the Wi-Fi areas without any changes.
They also removed features like the Underground, Secret Bases and contests, while changing others for the worse like the Gym Leader rematches. Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Also, the new games have better graphics, better use of the touchscreen, and whole lot more to do post-plotline than Platinum.
However, Platinum's ok too Respond Ignore User Report Delete. The Doctor. The planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous.
I've been here 6 years Wow I'm old. I personally prefer Platinum. Not to take anything away from SS, but I played Crystal last summer and it just feels I'm doing the same thing all over again.
I don't like the "menu in the touch screen" interface because it's all too easy to hit it on accident. Moving Pokemon in the PC system is more cumbersome as well. And the final boss, Red, is only challenging on account of the steep level curve. I'd rather not have the "toughest" trainer in my games using a Pokemon as weak as Pikachu, thank you very much. Archer only makes this one appearance in the entire game unlike Cyrus, who you meet at the very start of Platinum , and Archer seems to be a puppet of the notably absent Giovanni.
Plus, in Platinum, the female character actually doesn't look like a Koopa-stomping plumber from another of Nintendo's franchises. They're both good games, but if I had to choose one of the two, I'd pick Platinum.
HeartGold was much better in my opinion. I always preferred Johto over Sinnoh. Art Site Twitter. I don't really want to make anyone upset because they like Platinum I freaked out because my very first game ever was Gold version, and when I heard they were making remakes, I drove my friends nuts. I love Heartgold, because I remembered every little detail.
Yes, it wasn't exactly perfect, but I knew they had to accommodate the new features somehow. I am very, very pleased with Heartgold, and my baby, Typhlosion, is now one of my base team Pokemon. I probably have a very sentimentally based opinion, but I prefer Heartgold to Platinum any day. Definatley platinum much much more to do like chaining or underground. Definitely give Platinum a playthrough.
It's great, and getting experience is so much more friendly. I do love the poketch. The problem with it is I don't like the graphics. The maps look way too cartoonish if you ask me. I also like the Pokemon following me.
